Early life & Career

Urbanowicz was born and raised in Aslockton, Nottinghamshire. His grandparents were Polish, but both his father and mother were born in England.

He was a student of the Music Technology Program at Staffordshire University, where he met with other band members of Editors. Albeit Editors were gaining musical popularity, the band members held odd jobs.

He used to work in a shoe store with Editors' drummer Ed Lay. While the band took shape in 2004 after they were signed by Kitchenware Records, the band members gave up their respective part-time jobs to devote themselves entirely to music.

While studying at Staffordshire University, he featured in an amateur music video produced as coursework during his studies.

In 2011, he provided additional production Stuck In This Ocean, the debut album of Airship. This album was released on September 5.

On 16th April 2012, Editors announced on their Facebook page that, "In a decision entirely based upon future musical direction, and with huge sadness, Editors and Chris Urbanowicz have parted ways." It was later described that Urbanowicz left the band due to "musical differences."

Tom Smith, the lead vocalist of the band commented on Urbanowicz's leave as follows:
Chris's heart wasn't in it anymore. For a year, we'd leave rehearsals feeling very negative and uninspired. Lots of things went wrong and what happened is still extremely sad. That's all I can say. We wish Chris the best of luck in his future endeavours, and expect you all to do the same. The parting is amicable, and however sad things are right now we all hope we'll continue to be friends for many years to come.

In 2013, he produced Alex Winston's single "101 Vultures".

Under the name Druids, he remixed "Overexposed" for Matt & Kim on their Lightening Remixes album which was released in 2013.

In 2014, Urbanowicz produced the self-titled debut EP under Play It Again Sam Recordings, for the band The Spectators, also their debut studio album Light Stays Close.

As being a professional wrestling fan, he composed the theme song for the wrestling podcast Keep It 2000 in late 2016. The podcast is hosted by Bryan Mann and Nate Milon.

It is mainly a chronological look at every episode of WCW's Monday Night Nitro that aired during the year 2000.

Urbanowicz himself appeared in the podcast twice. He also composed a piece of in-episode theme music for the Hogan Bump Challenge, an in-show segment.

Personal Life

Urbanowicz is currently a resident of New York City. He had reported that he has synesthesia. He is a Nottingham Forest Football Club supporter.
